The portfolio analyses the urban fabric of Raipur using 1 Sq. Km. precinct of Fafadih area. The study focuses on how market dynamics play a role in shaping the precinct development. The tangible aspects like neighborhood characteristics, evolution and transformation, land use and built-form, street network and infrastructure are analyzed and related to intangible aspects like peoples choices and preferences. The precincts land character, density and walkability are compared with the precinct in Bilaspur and in the fringe of the Raipur city to understand how markets foster development. The study also explores how the public realm helps in creating the identity of the city.
