KRITEE MONDAL

Kalyan is an example of a fast-growing city within Mumbai metropolitan region. Urban growth of Kalyan is due to the natural topography of Mumbai as it is built on a peninsula, it has few possibilities for expansion except towards northeast. Rapid land price increase in the core city of Mumbai led to development of Kalyan, the suburban region. The strengths of Kalyan City which has resulted in rapid growth of the area is due to its rail connectivity which connects to the core city, low land prices, affordable housing and good infrastructure with all the necessary amenities within the city.
